Figures of Grandeur- ICE Dyed Creations Fundraiser

By Arielle

Announcing the auction for my one-time fashion line, Figures of Grandeur, featuring themes of galaxies, geodes, water, fire, and rainbows, all inspired by the beauty and expansiveness of nature.

This line is made specifically to celebrate plus size bodies, who are often excluded from bold, rich colors in fashion. Every item is a one-of-a-kind ICE dyed creation, and some feature painted details, all done by hand by me. Items are primarily available in plus sizes and were thrifted, all from varying locations so as not to tap out an already small fashion market. Many had new tags, and at least half the items are Torrid!

Every dollar you spend on these items will go to the Afghan Cultural Society in Minnesota, who are building an urgently needed legal aid fund for SWANA detainees. 50% will be donated by Dance Life, and 50% will be matched by Alice E, a longtime student and supporter of Dance Life.

This is the ONLY time I will offer this line, so get these ICE dyed beauties while they’re available, and help me put money somewhere it’s really going to count.

The auction begins on 2/18 at 5pm Central Time, and lasts for 5 days. Click the images to be taken to the listings on eBay for these items Once the fundraiser begins!

These will be up for display in the studio lobby if you’re in the area and want to see them in person.

RAINBOW COWBOY FANTASY

This Torrid shirt has been upcycled into a rainbow cowboy fantasy, complete with silver embroidered stars. This 100% rayon shirt is flowy and comfortable, and I will most certainly be keeping it if no one bids on it! Torrid size 5, but could fit a variety of bodies.

NEBULA AND STARS SNAP SHIRT

This absolute masterpiece of a garment (if I do say so myself) features a magenta nebula cloud with hand painted metallic silver stars peeking through blue and black sky.

This thrifted Maurice's button down is a size 2x, but fits much more like an XL or 1X, and was tie dyed using ice dyes from Dharma. It’s made from 70% cotton and 30% rayon, and snaps shut.

FLAMING BODYSUIT

This Old Navy 3X long sleeve bodysuit has been ice dyed into a flame pattern, and accented with hand painted gold and copper metallic flames.

Use it as a costume piece, or for a fabulous night out! Made from 95% cotton and 5% spandex.

HYDRANGEA CARDIGAN

This cardigan features a design inspired by one of my favorite flowers, the Endless Summer hydrangea in pink, blue, purple and gray. It was originally striped, so I created an ombre from lighter and more pink flowers into darker blue and gray varieties.

Cozy and soft, this Torrid 4x sweater is made from 60% cotton and 40% rayon.

WOODLAND NYMPH BLOUSE

This shirt was made for forest fairies! Featuring Tassels and crochet, this flowy tunic blouse with bell sleeves will transport you to the woodlands.

Originally a mint colored Torrid shirt in size 3 or 3x, this is now a mossy green to brown ombre that's much more vibrant in person.

CONDOR AGATE GEODE SHIRT

Inspired by the condor agate, this ice dyed shirt by Maison Jules in size XXL features numerous geodes across both the back and front.

Rich reds, browns, oranges, whites and grays mimic the rings found in nature on this long sleeve top. Made from 58% cotton, 39% modal, and 3% spandex.

ORANGE WATERFALL SWEATER

I tried a new technique called gravity dyeing on this flowy sweater to give the feeling of a yellow, pink and orange waterfall. This shirt is a little bit of burnout fabric for a lightweight, cozy pullover.

This is a Torrid size 5 or 5x, but can fit a variety of sizes.

NEBULA GALAXY SHORT SLEEVE

A nebula galaxy in magenta, blues and black! Richly colored and fabulously detailed, throw this open front short sleeve duster on over casual wear any time.

This shirt is by MOA collection, its a size 2x but can fit many sizes. Made from 100% rayon.

DRAWSTRING MIDI SKIRT

This midi skirt was originally inspired by green and purple fluorite, but ended up more dark magnolia blossoms, wouldn't you say?

This thick knitted drawstring skirt by The Drop is a 4x and would make an excellent dance accessory. Made of 78% viscose and 22% nylon

ORANGE PURPLE NEBULA SCARF

A celestial scarf dyed with ice dyes, then hand painted with gold celestial starburst designs!

This 8mm habotai silk scarf measures 22"x72" and would make an excellent hip scarf.

CRISS CROSS WATERFALL TOP

This criss cross neck tunic top is inspired by melting ice as we move from winter into spring. Drape yourself in flowy ice dyes!

This top is a 5x, and is a polyester cotton blend.

CELESTIAL SHAWL

This silk shawl was dyed into a galaxy of magenta and muted purples, with witchy suns and moons painted on in metallic silver.

This would make a great dance belt!

RECTANGULAR CELESTIAL HIP SCARF

This silk scarf has been dyed in a magenta and purple galaxy, with suns, crescent moons, and stars painted on in metallic silver paint.

This 22x72" scarf would make a great dance belt!

BLUE PURPLE GEODE SHIRT

This repurposed shirt by Eye Candy was originally supposed to be a geode dye in amethyst colors, but it came out a lovely fluorite variety instead!

Swirling shades of dark and light blue, pink and gray compliment the geode shapes across the back and front. Ruched sides!

SUNSET TANK TOP

This 6x Torrid tank top looks like a sunset over a treeline, with scrub brush in the foreground.

Yellows, oranges, browns, reds, pinks, and purples all create an eye catching dance shirt.
